Jocelyn Horner (1902-1973), Kneeling nun with hands clasped to breast, bronze, Art Deco angular style, on integral rectangular base, signed in the cast. Approx. 19.5cm high overall, base 17cm by 10cm
Footnote: Horner was born, lived, worked and died in Halifax. She studied at Leeds College of Art, a contemporary of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Her work was exhibited at Leeds City Art Gallery, and shown in the Yorkshire Artists Exhibitions.
In very good condition. Small loss to nose end, a few minor dings including to finger and robes over extended right leg (see additional images). White paint flecks to surface. Scuff marks to base edge. No evidence of repair.
